We quickly realized that there was a disconnect between the solar system and the students. In many cases, students didn’t realize that there was a solar system on the school. In effort to integrate energy into the curriculum, we decided to hold an “Energy Day” program on the day that we flipped the switch to turn on the solar system. We got the entire school body involved while one class lead the energy learning activities which consisted of a solar oven and a solar-powered bubble machine.
